GABON - Card Game Rules
Overview
- Number of Players: 3 to 6 participants.
- Objective: Be the first to get rid of all your cards. Opponents receive penalty points based on the cards remaining in their hands.
Setup
- Dealing Cards:
- The dealer distributes 7 cards to each player.
- Players must wait to pick up their cards until the dealer picks up their own.
- If a player picks a card up before the dealer they get an additional card in their hand.
- Starting the Game:
- The dealer flips one card from the deck.
- The flipped card’s significance applies only to the dealer, who starts the game.
- The game is played clockwise.
Gameplay Mechanics
- Playing in Suits:
- Players follow the played suit: Hearts, Spades, Clubs, and Diamonds.
- If you can’t play anything, you say “Pass”.
- Changing Suits:
- Play an eight (8) to change the current suit.
- Or match the rank with another suit (e.g., playing a 9 of another suit on a 9).

Special Cards
- (8): Allows a suit change.
- King (K): Reverses the play direction.
- (2): Forces the next player to draw 2 cards. This can be countered by playing another 2, stacking the penalty for the next player.
- (3): Skips the next player’s turn.
